PPP Senator Palwasha Khan has accused the FIA and NCCIA of corruption, advocating for land allotment inquiries to be transferred to NAB.
In a recent Senate committee meeting, Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Palwasha Khan criticized the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), labeling them as corrupt. She urged that all inquiries concerning illegal land allotments be redirected to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The remarks were made during a session of the Senate Standing Committee on Privileges, where Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa provided updates on the authority's handling of land records and ongoing court cases. He stated that the CDA was cooperating with the Punjab Land Revenue Authority and was prepared to follow court decisions, while also emphasizing their accountability in cases of wrongdoing.
During the meeting, it was revealed that several cases related to farmhouse allotments, valued at approximately Rs1.5 billion each, were pending. Senator Rubina Khalid expressed dissatisfaction with the CDA's performance in addressing issues faced by affected citizens, questioning the authority's management of land transfers, including a plot that had reportedly changed hands five times within the CDA office.
Senator Palwasha pushed for the illegal allotments to be referred to NAB, after gathering comprehensive details. While CDA officials expressed readiness to assist in providing records for this purpose, concerns were raised about the appropriateness of referring cases currently before the courts.
The committee also requested a complete record of cases involving fraudulent plot allotments and transfers. Additionally, the CDA chairman was asked to address complaints regarding accommodations in the Parliament Lodges, committing to visit the lodges to resolve the issues.
