Gwadar Port Launches Second Marine Bunkering Operation

Gwadar Port enhances its marine fuel supply capabilities with a new bunkering operation.

Pakistan has marked a significant milestone by completing its second marine bunkering operation at Gwadar Port. This development solidifies Gwadar's growing reputation as a key marine fuel supply hub for international shipping.

The operation was executed by Vitol using its bunker barge Marine Ista, which supplied Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) that meets international standards, produced by Cnergyico PK Limited, to a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier.

This successful operation comes shortly after the port's inaugural bunkering, indicating that Gwadar has moved from achieving a historic milestone to establishing a reliable operational capability in marine bunkering.

The newly expanded service network includes support from Karachi and Port Qasim, enhancing the bunkering services across Pakistan's three primary commercial ports. This strategic move positions Gwadar as a vital maritime gateway and boosts Pakistan's capacity to provide compliant marine fuel options.

Industry experts believe that this advancement will not only elevate the commercial appeal of Gwadar Port but also contribute to the broader goal of enhancing maritime trade and logistics in the region. The collaboration between Vitol Bunkers, Cnergyico, and various government entities has been pivotal in this achievement.
